The Robin Hood Project: Options’ Staff Sacrifice Scheme raises £70,000 ahead of Second Wave

2nd December, 2020

We are well and truly into the second wave of COVID-19, with various restrictions and tiers being imposed across the United Kingdom and many other countries around the world. Like most of the world, the Options team are continuing to work from home into 2021.

2020 has been exceptionally difficult for some, and it’s set to be a very different holiday season for many, but it is important to remember why we’re doing this and to consider those who are making huge personal sacrifices to keep us all safe.

The Robin Hood Project came to be as we had a strong desire to help those around us at the beginning of this pandemic, in any way we could. We set up a JustGiving page, and are proud to have raised over £270,000, almost £70,000 of which came directly from the Options staff salary sacrifice scheme. Over the last few months we have been  working to distribute these funds by providing support to local hospitals, care homes, first responders and those in need.

Last week, as our Options US family celebrated a Thanksgiving unlike any other, we were delighted to have been able to assist the Boys Club of New York in their goal of providing families in New York with Thanksgiving dinners. Closer to home, we’ve continued our support for local hospitals and Covid wards, like that of Antrim Area Hospital, who have been impacted heavily in the second wave.

As we head into the festive season, it’s crucial to remember those truly in the eye of this storm, our frontline medical teams fighting COVID-19, and support them however we can.
