Introducing Options University

This week we were delighted to announce the launch of Options University to all of our colleagues globally. As Options continues to grow and evolve, we also strive to evolve the types of training and development opportunities that we offer to our team.

While we have always been a proud supporter of learning and development on an individual basis, Options University marks a significant change in approach. We’ve had the incredible opportunity to take advantage of the full range of cutting edge technology and innovation at our disposal. Many of the world’s most successful firms have established internal universities, but we may be the first to deliver one in this way. Options University offers structured, interactive classes to employees across the globe on a range of technical topics. Weekly classes make up our first modules running in our Spring and Autumn semesters. Our classes are open to all staff, indiscriminate of location or technical experience.

Yesterday saw the fruition of months of planning as the opening class in our first module: ‘An Options Introduction to Programming‘ was set in motion. Staff located in London, New York, Toronto, Geneva, Dublin and Hong Kong followed along as the course was broadcast live from our new state-of-the-art training room in Belfast. Participants across the world were able to follow the class, complete exercises and interact with our accredited training providers.

Through my role I’ve had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of people who want to join Options at events such as graduate fairs, university society nights and our own, Options Career Socials. Time and time again, the people I speak to tell me the main attraction for applying is the opportunity to not only travel the world but to also develop their skills in technical and non-technical fields, obtain qualifications and facilitate holistic professional development.

Options University provides us with the opportunity to bolster these capabilities even further and cement our reputation as a true learning organisation. With upcoming classes in areas such as networks and communications, our forthcoming semester will continue to cater for everyone and raise the bar for excellence.
